Rifle Team

Club CO: Alex Berwager               awb5221@psu.edu
Club XO: Travis O'Neill                 teo5019@psu.edu
Club 1SG: Matt Hughes                 meh5433@psu.edu

Wednesdays from 1500-1800

The rifle club is Penn State Army ROTC's shooting group which promotes range safety, teaches cadets how to shoot a rifle, and provides cadets the opportunity to compete in competition shooting events. Within our indoor rifle range located in the lower level of the Wagner building cadets of all levels are given the chance to hone their skills shooting with either a competition .22LR rifle or a .22LR pistol. Cates who have never shot before get one-on-one instruction with one of our club officers to learn the proper techniques of shooting to ensure safety and success. Within the rifle club there is a competition team who competes against schools in the Mid-Atlantic Conference. This year our rifle team will be traveling to compete in places such as Virginia Military Institute, MIT (Boston), and then to Philadelphia for a qualification match. The end state of the rifle club is to familiarize club members of range safety, teach them how to shoot live rounds, and finally compete in MAC competitions throughout the coming year.
