Lieutenant Colonel Ken Weiland

Branch: Signal

Lieutenant Colonel Ken Weiland is a Communications Officer with 21 years of active and reserve duty service in the United States Army.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Moniteau High School, in West Sunbury, PA.  He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in Oct 1988 and served as unit supply specialist at the U.S. Army Reserve Center, Butler, PA until he accepted an Army Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) Scholarship in 1990.   He earned his Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management and his Commission as a Second Lieutenant in May 1992 from Slippery Rock University, PA.  LTC Weiland has served in numerous leadership and staff positions, to include Armor Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and a variety of Signal Corps assignments to include Assistant S3 for Operations, Company Commander, Battalion S3, Battalion XO, as well as Joint experience at US Pacific Command.  He deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM – Afghanistan, and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM with the 25th Infantry Division.  He is married to the former Jennifer Marie Zimmerman.
